ADMISSION OF NEW STUDENTS 1. Admission to college is open to all high school graduates with the required credentials and grade point average. 2. All applicants for enrolment to college will undergo screening and testing. 3. Screening will be done strictly within the announced dates and schedule. 4. Students who meet the admission requirements and who pass the entrance examination are qualified for enrolment. 5. Priority is given to applicants who have never enrolled in college. Transferees will only be accommodated for the remaining slots on a quota based on availability of staff and facilities / resources. The criteria for admission of transferees are determined by the enrolment committee and are posted on strategic bulletin boards during the screening period. Applicants who have earned a degree in LNU or in any other SUC will no longer be accepted. Admission to all programs in the graduate level is continuous during the academic year—first and second semesters and the summer term. General requirements include possession of appropriate educational degrees with satisfactory academic records. Passing the Language Proficiency Test is a requirement for admission to the Graduate School. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 1. For Graduate Programs (Master’s degree and Doctorate degree): Admission to graduate programs is done before the term during the academic year. To qualify, an applicant must have an appropriate Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, satisfactory academic records, must submit a Transcript of Records and Honorable Dismissal, and pass the Language Proficiency Test. 2. For Undergraduate Programs (First Year College Applicants and Transferees): a. Must pass the Leyte Normal University-College Admission Test (LNU- CAT) and Interview. Name must appear in the List of Qualified College applicants. b. Must submit the original copy of the following: - High School Report Card/Form 138/Form 137 - Certificate of Good Moral Character - Certificate of Live Birth (original and xerox copy) - Doctor’s Certificate of Chest X-ray Results and Urinalysis c. Grade Point Average (GPA) must be at least 80% in both English and Filipino All students shall be registered on or before the last day of the registration period. In no case shall the registration be later than five days after the last day of registration (Article 168, University Code). No student enrolled in another college/university shall be admitted to the university without a written permit from the appropriate official of the former institution. The permit shall state the total number of units for which the student is to be registered and the subject(s) that he/she is authorized to cross register in. REQUIREMENTS FOR TAKING THE LNU-CAT AND INTERVIEW 1. Duly certified xerox copy of High School Report Card/Form 138 showing at least up to 2nd grading period. 2. GPA of 80% or higher with no grade lower than 80% in both English and Filipino. 3. 4 pieces of recent 2x2 clear close-up ID picture. 4. Testing fee of Two Hundred Pesos (P200.00).
