LNU to ground new edifice Print

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) awarded the Leyte Normal University (LNU) for its yield of distinguished Teacher Education with one establishment of the Center of Teaching Excellence Building.

In an interview with Ms. Juvy Mariano, the University Board Secretary, she said that the building will be used by teachers of different schools in the region for the conduct of trainings on instructional material development with special emphases on book writing and technology-driven materials; to test, refine and reproduce the materials developed, train teachers on how to use the materials effectively and develop local capacity to integrate ICTs in classroom teaching.

        Mariano  detailed  that LNU proposed  for  the establishment of the said building through, University President Dr. Evelyn C. Cruzada. The purpose of the establishment is to implement programs in order to maintain and improve LNU’s image, as well as to help systematize quality education in the entire region.

The building will hold equipment like 6 units air conditioner, 1 unit Xerox machine, 1 unit risograph machine, 20 units PC with headset, 1 unit laser jet printer, 2 units laptop – ACER ASPIRE, and 1 unit LCD projector – ACER.

 Mariano further particularized that Engr. Marmita and Engr. Chua contracted for the designing of the building. The plans, calendar of activities, areas of renovation, procurement and the details of the soon inauguration of the building were reported to CHED.
