by Ma. Carmie Flor I. Ortego Leyte Normal University (LNU) student teachers and Tourism and Hotel & Restaurant Management (THRM) practicumers began their second shift assignments. The 212 student teachers of the university started their second shift on Aug. 12, 2009. They are now teaching in schools namely: San Jose Elem. School, BV Closa Central School, Burauen South Central School, Dulag South Central, Tanauan I Central, Carigara II Central chool, Barugo I Central, Palo I Central School, Marasbaras National High School, Marasbaras Elem. School, Tigbao-Diit Elem. School, City Central and in the Leyte Normal University – Integrated Laboratory School (LNU – ILS).
Meanwhile, the THRM practicumers, having completed the necessary 300 hours for the first shift was given their next shift assignment. On campus practicumers are on duty in the LNU House while off campus practicumers are having their on-the-job training (OJT) in local community establishments like: Leyte Park, Hotel Alejandro, Rafael Farm, Hotel d’ Angelo, Rosvenil; in Manila in Shangri-La, Ascott; in Iloilo within the Grand Dame and in the Iloilo Business Hotel; in Cebu in the Crown Regency, Mariott, Century Plaza and in the Philippine Airlines. Local practicumers were chosen based on the needs of the establishment. Practicumers assigned in different areas of the country are those who can afford the everyday expenses during the training. Practicumers in Manila were subjected to phone interviews from the company applied for. |
