LNU Hones the Futures Thinking and Foresight Skills of its Managers and Selected Faculty and Staff


Leyte Normal University held Futures Thinking and Foresight Capacity Building Initiative on October 5-7, 2023, at Hotel de Fides, Tacloban City. It was participated by the Management Committee, directors, and selected faculty and staff of the university.

The capacity building was graced by guest speakers: Emmanuel de Guia, the Resident Futurist for the Senate Committee on Sustainable Development Goals, Innovations, and Futures Thinking; Ms. Jalaine Joyce C. Malabanan, a Faculty of Department of Humanities and Philosophy Chief, Center for Futures Research of Polytechnic University of the Philippines; and Dr. Marife Mustacisa–Lacaba, Associate Professor and Director of Samar Island Center for Adult Education and Technology Learning.

It trained the university leaders in developing futures thinking and foresight skills to address emerging trends and maintain the relevance of the university to the community and to the achievement of the sustainable development goals.
