LNU Advocates National Women’s Month Celebration

Leyte Normal University (LNU) community proudly wore purple dresses, shirts, and others to kick off Women’s Month on March 5, 2024, marking the commencement of a month-long celebration honoring women’s achievements and the ongoing fight for gender equality.

Additionally, Normalistas participated in the purple ribbon pinning ceremony at the LNU HRDC Multipurpose Hall on Monday, March 4.

To keep the spirit of the celebration, LNU launched “Purple Day Wednesday,” where everyone wore something purple every Wednesday throughout the month as a visual show of support for women’s rights and recognition of women’s contributions to society.

These events at LNU echoed the national directives of Presidential Proclamation No. 224 and 227 series of 1988 that designated the first week of March as Women’s Week and Women’s Role in History Month.
