LNU Showcases Culture and Arts Prowess Through Theatrical Plays


Leyte Normal University displays another set of culture and arts prowess during its 103rd Founding Anniversary through the LNU Sirang Theater Ensemble Overture and the LNU Culture and Arts Festival at the HRDC Alba Hall on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

The LNU Sirang Theater Ensemble and Sound, led by Prof. Leoncio Olobia, performed “Pagturugkop han mga Inop”. It is a theatrical performance of a dream sequence accentuating the cycles of emotions and themes of darkness and resilience.

Meanwhile, the LNU Culture and Arts Festival entertained the audience with a musical excerpt from the iconic production, West Side Story. It was performed by the selected members of the LNU Performing Arts: Muzik Harmonie, LNU Philharmonic Singers, Hiphop Generals, and LNU Dance Company.

Ms. Evie Angeni Aguirre also graced the event as a guest artist and performed her interpretation of “Moments in the Woods” from the musical Into the Woods.

In her opening remarks, University President Dr. Evelyn B. Aguirre emphasized the significance of this event in fostering culture, arts, and music. She also highlighted the university’s role in nurturing and showcasing the talents of Normalistas.

This event serves as a testament to Leyte Normal University’s multifaceted excellence, showcasing not only its academic prowess but also its dedication to nurturing and showcasing talents in the arts and music of the Samareños and Leyteños.
