Inclusive Education
The Leyte Normal University (LNU) adheres to inclusive education in accordance with Sec. 3, Article XXIII of the LNU Code, “Admission and Registration” to wit:
“No student shall be denied admission to the university by reason of race, age, sex, nationality, socio-economic status, religion, political affiliation, or physical disability.”
Thus, it admits students with special needs, so long as they meet the minimum requirements for admission. This policy is expressly spelled out in the Student Handbook and in the Academic Services Manual, particularly in the Admissions Section. Further, this is disseminated to the general public through broadcast and digital media. The university is also a hub of innovative and responsive educational opportunities for learners of all ages and from all sectors that enable them to fulfil their career and lifelong learning needs, demands and aspirations. It supplements the university’s regular education services by offering relevant educational programs and lifelong projects, thereby making a strong impact to the inclusive growth and sustainability of society

Gender and Development Officer
The University has a Gender and Development Office manned by Dr. Gerardo P. Nicol, the GAD Director. His task includes initiating activities that will promote GAD within the University, develop, review and implement plans, programs, policies and regulations on GAD, and conduct studies on GAD and publish materials in coordination with the Philippine Commission on Women. T Also, a Technical Working Group made up of faculty members from various colleges supports and leads university-wide GAD activities
