Graduate School Holds Research Colloquium 2026

TACLOBAN CITY, PHILIPPINES (Feb. 9, 2026) – Graduate School Research Colloquium at Leyte Normal University (LNU) Ballroom Hall.

The Graduate School of Leyte Normal University convened its Graduate Research Colloquium on February 9, 2026, emphasizing studies anchored on the Sustainable Development Goals.

Dr. Cleofe L. Lajara, Dean of the Graduate School, opened the ceremony by highlighting the vital role of research and innovation in societal growth. To ensure a fair and transparent selection process, Dr. Jacqueline I. Espina presented the evaluation guidelines, while Dr. Luis Luigi Eugenio A. Valencia introduced the panel of judges, composed of Dr. Marife M. Daga, Dr. Myrna L. Macalinao, and Dr. Ma. Rocini Tenasas.

Out of eight participants who presented studies across various disciplines, three researchers emerged as winners for their specialized work in cryptographic security, cultural heritage in education, and school leadership management. The top three awardees are set to represent the Graduate School in the prestigious Dayaw Awards.

The colloquium aligns with the university’s broader student-engagement initiative known as the Conversation Hub, which promotes open dialogue on academic, health, and social issues. As part of this initiative, monthly informal talks will be held where students are encouraged to actively participate and may suggest topics for future conversations.
