The Knowledge Creation and Innovation Center (KCIC) serves as a dynamic hub dedicated to fostering advanced research, technological advancement, and academic excellence. IP Records
- The IPO shall maintain records of the university’s IP and store them in appropriate form and in sufficient detail.
- It shall monitor the deadlines for the payment and other obligations related to the maintenance or annuity fees of protected IP.
IP Services
University clients, such as faculty, researchers. students, and non-academic personnel shall avail themselves of the IP services with no fees to be incurred. External clients, such as those with no formal ties to the university, shall, however, be subject to appropriate fees reflective of the services requested from the office.
Intellectual Property Filings
The main IP service of the IPO is to provide IP protection through IPO-PHL registration of IPs that the university has direct or joint ownership. The office can also provide to IP registration service for technology transfer and/or TBI clients for a certain fee stipulated under their contract or based on standard service fees.
The Knowledge Creation and Innovation Center (KCIC) houses specialized offices designed to drive research translation, digital empowerment, and creative enterprise. These core units work synergistically to support the university’s innovation ecosystem:
Intellectual Property Office (IPO): Safeguards institutional creations, manages patenting processes, and guides researchers in protecting and commercializing their intellectual property.
Technology and Business Incubation (TBI): Transforms viable research outputs and startup ideas into market-ready ventures by providing mentorship, resources, and industry linkages.
Data Analytics Office (DAO): Empowers data-driven decision-making across academic and operational units through advanced data processing, research modeling, and analytics support.
Creative Works Office (CWO): Promotes and showcases artistic, literary, and multimedia innovations, bridging culture and technology to enrich the creative industries.
