PALO, LEYTE, PHILIPPINES – GeoJustice 2026 Official Launch at Leyte Normal University (LNU) Research and Innovation Center at Government Center, Palo.

Following the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between Leyte Normal University and the Local Government of Palo on May 19, 2026, the GeoJustice Project reached another important stage through its official launching and presentation to partner institutions and stakeholders on July 14–16, 2026, at the LNU Research Center, Government Center, Palo Leyte.

The GeoJustice project aims to strengthen the municipality’s barangay-based justice system by providing officials with a technology-assisted platform for recording, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting cases.

The launching formally introduced the project to representatives of LNU, DOST-PCIEERD, the Local Government of Palo, PNP–Palo, barangay officials, and other stakeholders. The activity included the project presentation, partners’ commitments, and the signing of the Wall of Commitment. The following days focused on training, system testing, feedback, and implementation planning.

Led by Dr. Las Johansen B. Caluza, together with Prof. Raphy Dalan, Mr. Rico Combinido, Mr. Cesar Celestial Jr., Mr. Eduardo Tiquen, Ms. Shiela Paligutan, and the supporting IT faculty members, the project continues to progress from partnership-building toward actual deployment and implementation.

Through GeoJustice, LNU and its partners aim to contribute to SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
