LNU Regional Hub Conducts AI Training for MAPEH, SPA, and SPS Educators

TACLOBAN CITY, PHILIPPINES – AI Ready ASEAN Training for Select DEPED Leyte Division Teachers at LNU Alba Hall.
The AI Ready ASEAN Regional Hub at Leyte Normal University (LNU), in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Leyte, successfully conducted the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Literacy Training-Workshop to more than 300 MAPEH, Special Program in the Arts (SPA), and Special Program in Sports (SPS) Teachers on July 25, 2026.
The workshop was graced by Dr. Crisanto Daga, Education Program Supervisor for MAPEH, SPA, and SPS of the Schools Division of Leyte, and facilitated by the AI Ready ASEAN Master Trainers from the LNU Regional Hub. Participants were introduced to AI concepts, practical AI tools, and the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence in education.
The face-to-face workshop marks the beginning of the participants’ AI learning journey. They will continue with a series of online learning modules, and upon successful completion of the program requirements, they will receive an international certificate under the AI Ready ASEAN Programme.
Through this initiative, Leyte Normal University and the Department of Education Schools Division of Leyte reaffirm their commitment to equipping educators with future-ready digital competencies and advancing innovative teaching practices in basic education.
