TACLOBAN CITY, PHILIPPINES – Key Informant Interview TEI Administrators held on September 7, 2026 at Leyte Normal University (LNU) Ballroom Hall.

Leyte Normal University participated in a national research initiative on the development of a framework for teacher demand and supply under the Teacher Education Council’s (TEC) Research Initiatives in Teacher Education (RITE2) Program.

The study, led by the University of Santo Tomas in collaboration with several higher education institutions, aims to generate evidence-based recommendations that will strengthen teacher workforce planning and promote an adequate, equitable, and responsive supply of teachers in the Philippine education system.

LNU was identified as one of the participating higher education institutions based on its qualified teacher supply ratio. The University’s participation includes engagement with teacher education administrators, first-year students, and recent graduates through interviews and focus group discussions.

Through its participation, LNU contributes to a national research initiative that seeks to help shape policies and strategies for the future of teacher education and the Philippine teaching workforce.
