LNU Strengthens Partnerships with Extension Stakeholders

Leyte Normal University (LNU), Department of Science and Technology-Regional Office 8 (DOST-RO8), Gawad Kalinga (GK), and Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Brgy. San Miguelay, Sta. Fe, Leyte, ink a memorandum of agreement during the Joint MOA Signing and Ceremonial Turnover of Projects Funds activity on May 10, 2023, at LNU Audio Visual Studio.

The activity also highlights the collaborative efforts of the stakeholders present in addressing community concerns, providing them with sustainable projects using a Bottom-Up approach through extension projects.

DOST has developed a Dual-Drum Composter Technology to control biodegradable waste management and improve farming practices at Brgy. San Miguelay, an adopted community of LNU.

This particular extension involvement of the university and its stakeholders is a collaborative effort in answering the call for Sustainable Development Goals No. 11, 8, 1, and 2: to make communities and human settlement safe, resilient, and sustainable; to promote sustainable, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all; to end poverty; and to end hunger by achieving food security.
