LNU Inks Partnership with Capilano University, Canada

Leyte Normal University (LNU), led by the University President, Dr. Evelyn Aguirre, and Capilano University (CU) in Canada, represented by the Associate Vice-President for International Relations, Dr. Chris Bottrill, inked the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for future collaborations in the international landscape of academia during the Partnership Visit Conference at the Ballroom, Administration Building, on February 17, 2023.

During the event, Dr. Aguirre emphasized the 7th goal of the university to enhance and extend internationalization programs to achieve worldwide sustainability and comparability. This goal of the university echoes the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 17 on Global Partnership for Sustainable Development.

Dr. Bottrill reiterated that the foundation of partnership with CU is commonly shared values.

He added that there are four themes to consider for partnership. These include community, experiential learning, the well-being of employees and students, and imagination, which he has seen and experienced when he visited LNU

An academic fellowship followed after the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MOU), realizing both universities’ goal of building global partnerships for sustainable development.
The collaborative conference was also attended by other university officials.
