LNU Joins the World in Celebrating International Women’s Day

Yesterday, March 08, 2023, the world celebrated International Women’s Day to honor women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. This year’s celebration is anchored on the theme DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality which in turn is aligned with the priority theme for the upcoming 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women, “Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls”.

Meanwhile, on Monday, March 06, 2023, Leyte Normal University officially opened the National Women’s Month Celebration during the Flag Raising Ceremony at the HRDC Gymnasium.

The LNU community began the celebration through a purple ribbon pinning activity as a symbol of solidarity to humanity’s lifelong crusade for women’s empowerment and gender equality.

The country celebrates National Women’s Month this March with the theme WE for gender equality and inclusive society. With the entire nation, the university honors women’s achievements and promotes women’s empowerment.
