LNU Strengthens Inclusive Education with Caibaan ES Through MOA Signing

TACLOBAN CITY, PHILIPPINES (Jan. 29, 2026) – Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing between Leyte Normal University (LNU) and Caibaan Elementary School for the Project “SPECIAL DAY”.

LNU seals its partnership with Caibaan Elementary School through a MOA signed on January 29, 2026, at the OUP Conference Room for the implementation of the extension project “SPECIAL DAY (Sustaining Parents and Educators Curricular Initiatives in Advancing Learners with Disabilities Academic Yearnings).”

The partnership covers the implementation of SPECIAL DAY (Sustaining Parents and Educators Curricular Initiatives in Advancing Learners with Disabilities Academic Yearnings), which provides tutorial support to learners with intellectual disability (ID), slow learners, and those with mild to moderate autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and PROJECT READER (Reading Enhancement and Development for Recovery), which focuses on improving foundational and advanced reading skills of Grades 1–6 learners through evidence-based instruction, reading interventions, and community literacy initiatives.

Present during the MOA signing were Dr. Gil Nicetas B. Villarino, LNU President; Dr. Luis Luigi Valencia, Project Leader; Dr. Lowell A. Quisumbing, Director of the Community Extension Services Office; Dr. Karen Raz, Principal IV of Caibaan Elementary School; Mrs. Cathy Capoquian, Teachers’ Association President; and Mrs. Jessica Glori, GPTA representative.
