ORI Leads Sustainable Tourism Research for Villaba, Leyte

Leyte Normal University (LNU) continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability through a research initiative supporting tourism development in Villaba.

Under its Research, Innovation, Extension, and Internationalization Program, LNU conducted a study designed to provide a science-based framework for sustainable tourism. Led by Jonas P. Villas, the project offers strategic recommendations that balance economic growth with environmental protection and resource preservation.

The findings now serve as a foundation for the municipality’s eco-tourism planning, ensuring that development efforts remain responsible, community-centered, and environmentally sustainable.
