Championing inclusivity and safe spaces, Leyte Normal University (LNU) held a Women’s Month awareness forum organized by its Gender and Development (GAD) Office on March 30, 2026, at the LNU Admin Ballroom.

Dubbed “Resonating Voices: Understanding Gender-Based Human Rights Violations in Schools: Strengthening Safe and Inclusive Environments,” the forum brought together experts from government agencies to discuss gender rights, protection, and the importance of creating safer spaces in educational institutions.

Serving as resource speakers were Carmela T. Pullentes-Sabalo, Head of the Sectoral Program of the Protective Services of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), who discussed gender-based human rights violations against women, and Jonna Marie M. Ranes, Chief of the Promotion and Advocacy Division of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR), who tackled the legal and ethical frameworks that support protection and inclusion.

As the university celebrates Women’s Month, LNU reaffirms its commitment to promoting gender awareness and building a safe and inclusive learning environment.
