Eastern Visayas Region delivered a remarkable performance at the National Culture and the Arts Festival (NCAF) held at West Visayas State University from April 8–11, 2026, securing an impressive 3rd runner-up finish among 16 competing regions across the Philippines.

This milestone marks a significant leap from its 8th overall ranking during the 2024 NCAF hosted by Philippine Normal University, reflecting the region’s growing excellence in cultural and artistic performance on the national stage.

Beaming with pride, Region 8 showcased its rich pool of talent across 43 events spanning visual arts, dance, music, dramatic arts, literary arts, Mr. and Ms. PASUC, and festival dancing.

Leading the charge was Leyte Normal University, which fielded the largest delegation from Eastern Visayas with 72 participants composed of student performers, artists, and coaches. The university joined nine other state universities and colleges (SUCs) in representing the region.

Region 8’s strong finish stands as a testament to its unwavering commitment to cultural excellence, as its performers and artists continue to elevate Eastern Visayas’ creative spirit on the national stage.
