TACLOBAN CITY, PHILIPPINES (April 29, 2026) – Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing Between Leyte Normal University (LNU) and the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Region VIII at LNU Hotel Crescencia.

On April 29, 2026, a meaningful step toward addressing adolescent pregnancy was achieved, as LNU and the CPD Region VIII officially sealed their partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing for the research project “TAPROOT-BLOOM: Getting to the Root of Teenage Pregnancy” at LNU Hotel Crescencia.

This partnership aims to identify and analyze the root causes of adolescent pregnancy through research, ultimately guiding the development of responsive programs and interventions that promote and empower the well-being of the youth and the community.

The event gathered key officials, headed by CPD VIII Regional Director Elnora R. Pulma and LNU President Dr. Gil Nicetas B. Villarino. Also present at the signing were Melanie C. Alberto, PPO IV CPD VIII, and Dr. Myra A. Abayon, Executive Director ORIE.
