PALO, LEYTE, PHILIPPINES (June 1, 2026) – Conforme Signing Between Leyte Normal University (LNU) and Department of Information and Communications Technology – Regional Office VIII (DICT-8)

LNU and DICT-8 formalized their partnership through a Conforme Signing and the launching of the Digital Transformation Center (DTC) during the opening of the National Information and Communications Technology (NICT) Month celebration on June 1 at the LNU Research, Extension, and Innovation Center in Palo, Leyte.

The event brought together government officials, ICT stakeholders, educators, students, and industry partners and featured the forum, “Digital Climate Futures: ICT Pathways toward Net Zero Philippines,” which highlighted the role of digital technologies in advancing climate resilience, sustainability, and community development.

The newly launched DTC aims to strengthen digital literacy, support technology-enabled solutions, and enhance the university’s capacity as a digital training and innovation hub.

The activity also marked the formal opening of NICT Month in Eastern Visayas, reaffirming DICT-8’s commitment to promoting digital transformation and expanding access to technology in support of national development.
