Leyte Normal University Joins Roster of Southeast Asia’s Premier Teacher Education Network

CEBU CITY, PHILIPPINES (July 01, 2026) – Association of Southeast Asian Teacher Education Network (AsTEN) 21st Meeting of Presidents at Golden Prince Hotel and Suites.

Leyte Normal University (LNU) has officially joined the AsTEN, marking another milestone in the University’s growing regional engagement.

LNU’s membership was institutionalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the opening dinner and MOU Signing Ceremony of the ASEAN Teacher Education Conference, held in conjunction with the 21st Meeting of Presidents of the Association of Southeast Asian Teacher Education Network (AsTEN). The event was hosted by Philippine Normal University, in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education and Cebu Normal University.

The ceremony was witnessed by education ministers, university presidents, professors, and scholars from across the ASEAN region.

AsTEN is a network of premier teacher education institutions in Southeast Asia that promotes collaboration in teacher education, research, and academic initiatives. The association aims to address emerging issues, challenges, and policies in teacher education while strengthening partnerships among member institutions for the advancement of education across the ASEAN region.
