TACLOBAN CITY, PHILIPPINES – Second Leg of the 2026 SDG and Futures Regional Caravan at Ballroom Hall, Leyte Normal University.

Leyte Normal University (LNU), in partnership with the Development Academy of the Philippines–Graduate School of Public Management (DAP-GSPM), co-hosted the second leg of the 2026 SDG and Futures Regional Caravan, bringing together representatives from local government units, state universities and colleges, national government agencies, and development partners to strengthen collaboration in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Futures Thinking, and evidence-based governance.

The caravan featured discussions on strategic foresight, evidence-informed policymaking, and the role of research in shaping sustainable and resilient communities. Participants also explored studies on ecosystem-based adaptation and adaptive governance for climate resilience, the future of urban barangays by 2040, and the transformation of public markets by 2050, demonstrating how futures research can guide local planning and decision-making.

The activity also highlighted DAP-GSPM’s graduate programs and knowledge products, reinforcing the importance of translating research into practical policies and capacity-building initiatives for local institutions. Through the caravan, LNU reaffirmed its commitment to fostering collaboration, research utilization, and innovation in support of sustainable local and national development.
