Leyte Normal University (LNU) welcomed the opening of the first Kusina ni Kawil food stall in a state university at the LNU Food Court, Stall No. 18.

The initiative is part of the rehabilitation and livelihood program for probationers and parolees under the Kapatirang Alalayang Wagas para sa Institusyonal na Laban (KAWIL) Movement, which promotes a peaceful, orderly, and responsive community.

The program supports the Department of Justice–Parole and Probation Administration (DOJ-PPA) mandate on rehabilitation, transformation, and reintegration by providing livelihood opportunities for program beneficiaries.

The name “Kawil,” meaning fishhook, draws inspiration from the biblical reference to being “fishers of men,” symbolizing guidance, transformation, and renewed opportunities for reintegration into society.
