TACLOBAN CITY, PHILIPPINES – Investiture and Pinning Ceremonies for Teacher Interns at Leyte Normal University (LNU) HRDC Gymnasium Spearheaded by BSIT Unit.

Leyte Normal University formally welcomed its teacher interns into a new phase of professional preparation through the 1st Semester A.Y. 2026–2027 Teacher Interns’ Investiture and Pinning Ceremony held today, September 2, at the LNU HRDC Alba Hall.

LNU President Dr. Gil Nicetas B. Villarino led the milestone event. It brought together teacher interns, university officials, faculty members, mentors, and representatives from partner institutions in a celebration of commitment, professional growth, and service in education.

Carrying the theme, “A Pledge of Purpose: Integrity to Lead, Excellence to Inspire, Service to Empower,” the ceremony highlighted the responsibility of future educators to uphold professional integrity, pursue excellence, and serve learners and communities with dedication.

A key component of the event was the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between LNU and its partner institutions, formalizing and strengthening collaboration in providing meaningful field-based experiences and professional development opportunities for teacher interns. Among the education leaders who took part in the partnership were Mariza S. Magan, EdD, CESO V, DepEd Schools Division Superintendent of the Leyte Division, and Sherlita A. Palma, DepEd Schools Division Superintendent of the Tacloban City Division.

The partnership reflects the shared commitment of LNU and its partner schools to develop competent, ethical, and service-oriented educators by connecting academic preparation with the realities of classroom practice.

The investiture and pinning ceremony served as a symbolic milestone for the teacher interns as they moved closer to assuming the responsibilities of professional educators.

The ceremonial pinning likewise represented the trust placed in the teacher interns as they begin applying the knowledge and skills gained through their academic training. With the guidance of their mentors and partner schools, the interns are expected to gain valuable experiences that will further develop their competence, confidence, and professional identity as educators.

The event underscored LNU’s continuing commitment to teacher education and to building strong partnerships that contribute to the preparation of future teachers.

As the teacher interns begin this new chapter of their professional journey, they carry with them a shared pledge—to lead with integrity, inspire through excellence, and empower through service.
