TACLOBAN CITY, LEYTE, PHILIPPINES – Online Launching and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing for Elevated Conversations.
Leyte Normal University (LNU) participated in the online launch of Elevated Conversations and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on September 12, 2026.
Led by the Pampanga State Agricultural University Graduate School, the event brought together 22 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) under the leadership of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Commissioner, Dr. Michelle Aguilar Ong.
Meanwhile, Wesleyan University President Dr. Ireneo G. Alvaro, Jr. served as the facilitator for the Elevated Conversations centered on the theme, “Sustaining the Unsustainable.”
The initiative aims to strengthen the graduate programs of participating SUCs and establish an open and inclusive space for critical, reflective, and future-oriented graduate-level discussions.
Representing LNU via Zoom were Dr. Gil Nicetas B. Villarino, University President; Dr. Lina G. Fabian, Vice President for Academic Services; Dr. Cleofe L. Lajara, Dean of the Graduate School; and Dr. Leo Reaywen Tugonon, Associate Dean of the Graduate School.
Elevated Conversations aligns with CHED’s A.C.H.I.E.V.E. Agenda 2030 by promoting a future-ready higher education sector and encouraging institutions to assess traditional assumptions as they explore fresh perspectives on critical and emerging issues.
