SDG 10 - REDUCED INEQUALITIES

10.4 - Proportion of students with disabilities

To ensure an inclusive academic environment and advance equal access to higher education, our university measures the proportion of enrolled students who identify as living with disabilities across all degree levels. Evaluated on a full-time equivalent (FTE) basis relative to the total student body, this metric demonstrates our institution’s dedication to dismantling physical, institutional, and learning barriers.

By actively tracking and supporting this student demographic, our university reinforces its commitment to fostering educational equity, expanding specialized support services, and creating a campus community where every student has the resources necessary to succeed.

10.4.1 - Proportion of students with disabilities

Republic Act No. 7277, also known as the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons, underscores the government’s responsibility to provide equal opportunities and access to essential services, including education and healthcare. In line with this commitment, Leyte Normal University remains dedicated to providing a nondiscriminatory learning environment, ensuring that all students, regardless of their abilities, have equal access to educational opportunities and resources.

Number of students

The university’s full-time equivalent (FTE) student body experienced minor fluctuations across the three-year monitoring period, moving from 7,374 enrolled students in 2022 to 7,182 students in 2023, which represents a 2.61% contraction. In the 2024 academic cycle, total student enrollment rebounded to 7,277 students, reflecting a year-over-year growth of 1.32%. Across this entire timeline, overall institutional enrollment has remained highly consistent, maintaining a steady capacity within the 7,100 to 7,400 student range.

Number of students with disability

The count of full-time equivalent students with disabilities recorded across all degree levels displays distinct shifts from 2021 through 2024. After recording zero students in 2021, the figure rose significantly to a peak of 23 students in 2022. Following this initial surge, the enrollment of students with disabilities adjusted to 12 students in 2023 and stabilized at 11 students in 2024.
