10.6 - Measures against discrimination
To foster a supportive, equitable, and inclusive campus ecosystem, Leyte Normal University (LNU) actively establishes and demonstrates concrete institutional measures designed to ensure the full participation, retention, and long-term success of underrepresented and vulnerable groups.
This metric evaluates the implementation and operational effectiveness of targeted support frameworks—including specialized mentoring, tailored academic and career counseling, accessible infrastructure, financial support schemes, and comprehensive non-discrimination policies—spanning both student and staff demographics. By proactively identifying and dismantling structural, social, and economic barriers to entry and advancement, our institution reinforces its fundamental commitment to social inclusion and equal opportunity, ensuring that all members of the university community have access to the resources, representation, and support necessary to achieve their fullest potential.
10.6.1 - Non-discriminatory admissions policy
Leyte Normal University (LNU) upholds a non-discriminatory admissions policy as outlined in its Admissions Manual, ensuring equal access to educational opportunities for all students, including those from marginalized and vulnerable groups. The policy explicitly welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds, such as Indigenous Peoples, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and graduates from the Alternative Learning System (ALS), as long as they meet the general and specific program requirements.
LNU’s policy framework aligns with national laws that advocate for inclusive education. The university’s admissions procedures are grounded in principles of equity and access, fostering a learning environment where all students have the opportunity to succeed. This commitment reflects LNU’s dedication to social inclusion and reinforces its role as an institution that values diversity and equal opportunity in higher education.
