LNU Strengthen Partnership with Parents Through General Orientation

TACLOBAN CITY, LEYTE, PHILIPPINES – Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Courses Organized by Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) – Region VIII at Hotel Alejandro.

Leyte Normal University (LNU) DRRM PC Junior Falcons participated in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) courses organized by the OCD Regional Office VIII on September 23 and 24 at Hotel Alejandro, Tacloban City.

The first batch of Junior Falcons attended the course for women on September 23, while the second batch participated in the course for the public sector on September 24.

The courses were participated in by SCDRO coordinators, students, faculty representatives from different higher education institutions (HEIs), and women personnel.

The one-day orientations covered hydrometeorological hazards, geological hazards, and human-induced hazards, along with basic preparedness measures and the roles of individuals and various sectors in reducing disaster risks.

The event was aimed at equipping participants with the knowledge and attitude needed to promote community-level support and participation in DRRM efforts.
