LNU Backs DA-BFAR RO8’s 60th FishCon

Leyte Normal University hosts the 60th FishCon: Fish Conservation Week of the Bureau of Fish and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and Department of Agriculture (DA) on September 18 – 22, 2023, at the LNU Multipurpose Hall. It is themed, “Masaganang Pangisdaan, Maunlad na Ekonomiya”.

The Opening Ceremony today, September 18, marks the beginning of the FishCon. Present were the university officials, headed by Dr. Evelyn B. Aguirre; students from the university and high schools across the region; and representatives from the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Istilo Poetry, and BFAR.

In her speech, Dr. Evelyn B. Aguirre, the University President, expressed the university’s commitment and support to conserve the region’s aquatic resources, a dedication to Sustainable Development Goal 14, Life Below Water.
