Pushing Environmental Issues and Solutions Through Theater

In line with the leap for a greener future at Leyte Normal University (LNU), the third-year Bachelor of Arts in Communication (BA Comm) students presented a theatrical production called LUNTIANON on November 06, 2023, at the Audio Visual (AV) Studio.

LUNTIANON is a project of the BA Comm students for their Introduction to Theater class. Dr. Leoncio P. Olobia, the course instructor, emphasized the need for an artistic program addressing relevant issues in support with Tacloban City’s “Go City Green” program.

The said theater production aims to foster awareness of environmental problems and inspire solutions through theater. It also showcased the sustainable practices of LNU students, such as minimizing waste through sustainable eating habits, using reusable containers, and practicing responsible waste disposal. Other highlighted initiatives include water and energy conservation, tree-planting efforts, and centralized environmental conservation through a student-led organization.
