LNU Strengthens Global Ties through MOU, at 36th AUAP Conference in Bangkok


In a significant stride towards global academic collaboration, Leyte Normal University (LNU) participated in the 36th Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) International Conference held at Siam University in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 18 &19, 2023, anchored on the theme, “Utilizing Institutional Assets to Enhance Global Outreach.” The University President, Dr. Evelyn B. Aguiree; the Vice President for Admin and Finance, Dr. Gil Necitas B. Villarino; and the Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension, Dr. Lina G. Fabian, composed the LNU delegation.

On that conference, LNU strengthens its international linkages anew by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ten international and local universities, fostering academic partnerships and collaboration and heightening the accomplishment of the 17th SDG- Partnership for the Goals.

The following are the international and local universities with whom LNU established formal collaborations:

1. IIC University of Technology, Phnom Penh, Cambodia: Represented by Dr. Chhuon Chanthan, Rector of IIC.

2. NIMS University Rajasthan, Jaipur, India: Represented by Prof. Dr. Balvir S. Tomar, Founder and Chancellor of NIMS.

3. Daffodil International University, Bangladesh: Represented by Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of DIU.

4. Siam University, Thailand: Represented by Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvannit, President of Siam University.

5. Ganpat University, India: Represented by Dr. Mahendra Sharma, Pro-Chancellor and Director General of Ganpat University.

6. Jhon Von Neumann University at Izsaki: Represented by Dr. Norbert Csis-madia, President of JvNU.

7. American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB): Represented by Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagma, Vice Chancellor of AIUB.

8. SIAS University, China: Represented by Dr. Shawn Chen, Chairman of the Board.

9. University of Southern Mindanao in North Cotabato, Philippines: Represented by Dr. Francisco Gil N. Garcia, President of USM.

10. Mountain Province State Polytechnic College at Bontoc, Mountain Province, Philippines: Represented by Dr. Edgar G. Cue, President of MPSPC.

AUAP is a non-governmental organization (NGO) holding the highest formal consultation rights with UNESCO. Its primary purpose is to be a platform for interaction and collaboration among members and the voice of universities and colleges in Asia and the Pacific.
