Investiture and Pinning Ceremony Marks a New Chapter for LNU Aspiring Practice Teachers

Leyte Normal University celebrated its next generation of educators by formally inducting 297 aspiring practice teachers from the Elementary Education and Secondary Education programs in a solemn Investiture and Pinning Ceremony held at the LNU HRDC Gym on February 5, 2025. Themed “Integrity in Education: Illuminating the Path to Excellence,” the event signified a crucial step forward in their professional journey.

The ceremony was attended by LNU officials, faculty members, and representatives from the Department of Education (DepEd), including Dr. Joelma A. Dagami, Public Schools District Supervisor of DepEd Tacloban City Division, and Dr. Mariza S. Magan, Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Leyte Division.

A key highlight of the event was the pinning of the teaching internship insignia, a symbolic moment signifying the transition of practice teachers from students to teaching interns. The university president, Dr. Evelyn B. Aguirre, presided over the ceremony, assisted by key academic figures and faculty members.

In her address, Dr. Aguirre highlighted the challenges of the next phase in the teaching journey: “This second chapter which you are about to be installed is far more challenging for this will affect and impact thousands of lives, that of your pupils, and that of your students, and even the parents.”

A key moment of the program was the symbolic pinning ceremony, where each practice teacher received their pin, marking their official transition from students to teaching interns. The event concluded with an Educators’ Pledge, led by Ms. Hannah Erika Borrel, and a tribute song performed by the practice teachers themselves.

The ceremony underscored LNU’s commitment to cultivating future educators who will make a meaningful impact in the lives of students and communities, guided by the university’s core values of integrity, excellence, and service.
