Leyte Normal University Hosts 2nd Stakeholders Meeting on Sustainable Tourism in Buga-Buga Hills

Leyte Normal University (LNU), with funding support from the Department of Science and Technology – National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST-NRCP), successfully convened the second Stakeholders Meeting on Sustainable Tourism in Buga-Buga Hills on May 20, 2025, at LNU Hotel Cresencia.

Building on the initial meeting held on September 30, 2024, the event aimed to validate findings from the Knowledge, Practices, and Attitude (KPA) Survey, integrate stakeholder feedback, and collectively craft implementable strategies for sustainable ecotourism development in Villaba.

Hosted by LNU’s research team under a DOST-NRCP-funded project, the meeting brought together representatives from the Leyte Provincial Government, national government agencies, academic partners, local business owners, partners from the tourism and biodiversity sectors, and barangay officials from Buga-Buga, Jalas, and Campurong—villages directly impacted by tourism activity in the Buga-Buga Hills area.
