LNU Expands Green Alliances with New MOUs Signed with Luzon Universities

Leyte Normal University (LNU) signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) and Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) to formalize cooperation in sustainability initiatives, research, and academic exchange programs.

At TAU, the MOU signing was held on July 8 with University President Dr. Silverio Ramon Dc. Salunson and Director of External Linkages Dr. Marianne P. Villaruel. The agreement focuses on mutual development in sustainability documentation, environmental planning, and institutional linkages.

Another MOU was signed on July 11 at BASC with President Dr. Jameson H. Tan and IRO Director Dr. Meriam F. Sulit. BASC’s recent achievement of 13th place in the 2024 UI GreenMetric World Rankings positions it as a key partner for knowledge exchange on quality assurance and green campus development.

The MOUs were signed during LNU’s UI GreenMetric benchmarking visit from July 7 to 11, 2025, led by Dr. Rommel L. Verecio, LNU’s Director for Internationalization and External Affairs. The agreements aim to enhance collaboration in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and improving both institutions’ performance in global university rankings.
