Youth Voices for Climate Resilience in Eastern Visayas


The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in partnership with Leyte Normal University (LNU) and Philippine Information Agency (PIA) organized “From Data to Delegation: Youth Voices for Climate Resilience in Eastern Visayas” for the PSA’s 36th National Statistics Month celebration. It was held on October 8, 2025 at Gaisano Central Real. The event featured the crucial role of data-driven insights in advancing climate action and promoting sustainable development initiatives across Eastern Visayas.

Moderated by Dr. Jonas P. Villas, LNU Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension, the forum featured global youth climate leaders Susmita Mishra of YOUNGO Communications and Jan Kairel Guillermo, Communications Manager for the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions. Both panelists highlighted the growing role of youth in translating climate data into meaningful advocacy, emphasizing collaboration, innovation, and policy engagement as key to building a more resilient Eastern Visayas.
