LNU Makes History as First Public University in the Philippines to Earn APIEM 5-Star International Accreditation
Leyte Normal University has achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first public university in the Philippines to be recognized as an Asia Pacific Institute for Events Management (APIEM) Teaching 5-Star International Centre of Excellence for its BS Tourism Management degree major in Events Management.
This top-tier accreditation, granted by the UK Event Industry Academy, places LNU among the highest-performing institutions in the Asia-Pacific region, affirming the University’s leadership in world-class, industry-ready education. It underscores LNU’s exceptional standards in academic instruction, student training, and professional practice in events, hospitality, and tourism management.
The recognition follows a rigorous audit process that evaluated student-organized events, faculty teaching performance, institutional documents, and interviews with university leaders, lecturers, and students.
