LNU Ranks 782nd Globally in the 2025 Greenmetric World University Rankings


Leyte Normal University has secured its place among globally recognized sustainable institutions, ranking 782nd worldwide in the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings. This position places LNU within a competitive field of 1,745 universities worldwide, reflecting the university’s continuing commitment to sustainability-driven development.

In the Philippines, LNU placed 35th out of 89 participating universities, further underscoring its active role in advancing environmentally responsible initiatives in higher education.

LNU also recorded a meaningful improvement in its overall score, rising from 5,510 points in 2024 to 5,960 points in 2025. This increase highlights the progress made in key areas of the UI GreenMetric framework, which assesses institutions based on sustainable infrastructure, energy and climate action, waste management, water conservation, transportation systems, and sustainability education.

The 2025 edition of the rankings reflects broader global participation and a shared commitment to environmental stewardship among universities worldwide.

LNU remains committed to the goals of the UI GreenMetric initiative, especially in strengthening sustainable operations, improving energy and resource efficiency, enhancing green spaces and infrastructure, and advancing education that nurtures environmental responsibility.
