BSIT Faculty Wins Best Research Paper Award for Innovative Solar-Powered Dryer at IMREC 2024

Engr. Dennis S. Tibe, a faculty member of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) of Leyte Normal University (LNU) received the Best Research Paper Award out of 185 research papers from across the world at the 2nd International Multidisciplinary Research-Based Extension Conference (IMREC), held from October 15-18, 2024, at the DAP Conference Center, Tagaytay City.
His study, “An Paglara: A Solar-Powered Tikog Leaves Dryer Technology,” introduces an eco-friendly dryer that enhances the processing of Tikog leaves, a key material for local crafts, boosting efficiency and productivity for communities reliant on this industry.
The conference, themed “Empowering Communities through Innovative Extension Practice: Bridging Gaps, Transforming Lives, Inspiring Change,” highlighted the empowerment of communities by promoting innovative extension practices that bridge gaps, transform lives, and inspire change.
