Leyte Normal University Kicks Off Festive Urugyas Normalista Sportsfest 2024
Leyte Normal University (LNU) President Dr. Evelyn Aguirre officially opened the Urugyas Normalista: LNU Sportsfest 2024 at a lively and festive ceremony held at the ORC Quadrangle on Monday, October 28. The three-day sports event aimed to foster school spirit and camaraderie through a range of athletic and cultural activities.
A standout feature of this year’s Sportsfest is the introduction of the four new teams, each inspired from revered Filipino cultural deities: Tribu Dayea, Tribu Idiyanale, Tribu Mapulon, and Tribu Lakapati. These teams not only enhance the competitive landscape but also deepen the cultural significance of the festivities, allowing students to embrace their heritage while engaging in spirited rivalry.
The Sportsfest featured a mix of traditional sports, modern games, and cultural contests. Competing teams battled not only in various sports but also in the highly anticipated search for Mr. and Ms. Sportsfest 2024, a title that celebrates sportsmanship, talent, and charisma.
