LNU Joins IPOPHL’s ITSO Network, Boosting Innovation and Intellectual Property Initiatives

Leyte Normal University has further strengthened its innovation initiatives by achieving full recognition as an Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). IPOPHL formalized this during the ceremonial turnover of a Memorandum of Agreement to LNU at the ITSO Regional Meeting on November 7, 2024, held at LNU.
Dr. Evelyn B. Aguirre, LNU President, accepted the MOA from IPOPHL, reinforcing the university’s commitment to promoting innovation that aligns with its vision for inclusive growth and societal sustainability.
As a certified ITSO, LNU aims to drive intellectual property (IP) generation in academic and research sectors, focusing on inventions and utility models in the region. This initiative supports the national goal of increasing innovative outputs and promoting Filipino inventions in the international patent system.
