LNU Conducts S-W on Music Integration in Language Education
Leyte Normal University (LNU), through its Center for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning (CCELL), conducted a seminar-workshop titled “Songs in Action: Harmonizing Language and Music” on November 28-29, 2024, at the LNU Ballroom.
The event, with the support of the working committee composed of BSED-English, BSED-Filipino, and the Bachelor of Arts in English Language (BAEL) faculty members, aimed to explore innovative teaching strategies in language education. Dr. Merissa B. Ocampo, a faculty member of Fukushima Gakuin University, Japan, served as the resource speaker, sharing her expertise on utilizing music to enhance language instruction.
The program underscored the importance of music as a tool for improving language learning outcomes and engaging students meaningfully. Participants explored methods for lesson integration, participated in hands-on activities, and demonstrated their learning through teaching presentations.
The seminar-workshop underscored LNU’s commitment to advancing educational innovation and professional development. With the active involvement of its academic programs, the university continues to foster collaboration and creativity in shaping modern teaching practices.
