LNU Marks Third Day of Founding Anniversary with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremonies, Campus Fairs
Leyte Normal University (LNU) marked the third day of its founding anniversary with a series of ribbon-cutting ceremonies and campus fairs, highlighting its commitment to academic excellence, research innovation, and social responsibility.
University President Dr. Evelyn B. Aguirre led the ribbon-cutting ceremonies, joined by the Management Committee, faculty members, and students. The event signified the inauguration of various exhibits and programs across different colleges and university offices.
At the ORC grounds and classrooms, the College of Education (COE) spearheaded the Academic Fair, featuring interactive exhibits from organizations such as the Early Childhood Education Organization (ECEO), Mathematics and Science Society (MSS), Council of Educators (CofEd), and Kapisanang Maka-Filipino (KMF).
The Innovation Fair, held at the HRDC lobby and organized by the Office of Research, Innovation, and Extension (ORIE), showcased advancements in research and technology. Highlights included a magic show by BS Biology students and booths from Visayas State University (VSU), St. Scholastica’s College – Tacloban, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). Free HIV screening and awareness sessions were also offered during the event.
The Arts and Sciences Fair at the Conversion Building featured exhibits from various student organizations and advocacy groups. The fair also served as a platform for LNU’s partnership with the National Authority for Child Care (NACC) in promoting the campaign “Bawal Ibenta ang mga Bata,” an initiative against child trafficking.
Meanwhile, the Hospitality, Tourism, and Entrepreneurship Fair at Hotel Cresencia showcased student-led food, product, and business pop-ups, emphasizing entrepreneurial innovation.
With its diverse exhibits and programs, the LNU Fair reaffirmed the university’s dedication to education, innovation, and social responsibility, demonstrating with pride that beyond academics, LNU is shaping a sustainable and transformative future for all.
