C-CELL Explores Critical English Perspective in a Webinar
Leyte Normal University’s Center for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning (CCELL), in collaboration with the BSED-English, BAEL, and EdD-ELT Unit, hosted a webinar, “Breaking Norms, Challenging Perspectives in English” on May 9, 2025, via Zoom. The event featured distinguished speakers who addressed language through legal and sociopolitical lenses.
The morning session featured Mr. Kevin Jake M. Angyab of the University of Baguio, who presented “Language and Law: Exploring Forensic Linguistics Insights, Perspectives, and Studies.” In the afternoon session, Dr. Nicanor L. Guinto of Southern Luzon State University delivered a lecture session about “Social Justice and/in English Language Studies.”
The webinar served as a platform for participants to reflect on their roles in promoting a more linguistically inclusive and socially responsive approach to language and education.
