DOST-SEI, LNU Strengthen Partnership for Quality STEM Teacher Training
Leyte Normal University (LNU) has formalized a new collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by LNU President Dr. Gil Nicetas B. Villarino and DOST-SEI Director IV Dr. Jayeel S. Cornelio.
Under the agreement, LNU commits to support DOST-SEI’s Science Teacher Academy for the Regions (STAR) program by designating faculty trainers from its Science and Mathematics departments. These trainers will conduct professional development activities for both pre-service and in-service teachers, aiming to strengthen STEM education in Eastern Visayas.
DOST-SEI, for its part, will provide technical and financial support for national and regional training activities, monitor implementation, and work closely with LNU and the Department of Education to ensure broad participation and impact. The MOU will be in effect until December 2030.
