LNU and KWF Seal Partnership for Language and Culture Center
Leyte Normal University (LNU) and the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on August 20, 2025, at the LNU Office of the President. The partnership is focused on establishing the Sentro ng Wika at Kultura in the university, which will serve as a hub for promoting the Filipino language, research, and training on the country’s diverse languages.
Representing LNU was University President Dr. Gil Nicetas B. Villarino, alongside key officials, faculty, and students. From KWF, the signatories included Dr. Carmelita C. Abdurahman, Commissioner for Programs and Projects, and Dr. Atty. Marites Barrios-Taran, Chairperson.
The three-year collaboration aims to strengthen the advocacy of the national language and ensure its dynamic role in education, culture, and community engagement.
