CME Leads Peptalk Series Highlighting SDGs and Responsible Event Management

TACLOBAN CITY, PHILIPPINES (Nov. 12-13, 2025) — Asia Pacific Institute for Events Management (APIEM) International 5-star Centre of Excellence Accreditation at Hotel Cresencia Ballroom Hall.
The College of Management and Entrepreneurship (CME) of Leyte Normal University held its Peptalk Series on “Achieving the UN SDGs for a Responsible Event Industry,” focusing on sustainability and accreditation in tourism and hospitality.
Resource Speaker Professor David Hind, President of the Asia Pacific Institute for Events Management (APIEM), emphasized the role of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in inspiring behavioral change and promoting environmental responsibility. He also commended LNU as the first APIEM-accredited school in the province.
The session also highlighted sustainable practices such as recycling, paperless events, resource reuse, tree planting, and the use of eco-friendly technologies. Mindful food choices were encouraged to help reduce carbon footprints.
