BEED Students Showcase Innovative Math Teaching in EDUC 108 Demo Teaching
TACLOBAN CITY, PHILIPPINES (Dec. 17, 2025) – EDUC 108 Demonstration Teaching for Second Year BEED students at Leyte Normal University (LNU) AV Studio.
BEED second-year students of Leyte Normal University demonstrated innovative and learner-centered strategies in teaching mathematics during the EDUC 108 Demo Teaching Showcase held on December 17, 2025, at the AV Studio, marking the culmination of their final requirement for Teaching Mathematics in the Primary Grades.
Led by Dr. Fabiana P. Peñeda, professor of EDUC 108, and graced by guest speaker Prof. Cristina N. Estolano, Chair of the Elementary Department, the activity provided BEED second-year students with the opportunity to demonstrate developmentally appropriate and learner-centered mathematics teaching strategies.
The participants delivered curriculum-aligned lessons emphasizing creativity, collaboration, and reflective practice. Guided by judges Mr. Jhonmar D. Bergula, MAED-EdM (Cand.), and Ms. Mivelyn R. Denalo, MAED-EdM (Cand.), the showcase highlighted effective classroom engagement, instructional planning, assessment practices, and the use of learning materials, while feedback sessions supported the professional growth of future educators.
