LNU Receives Prestigious Accolades at the CHEDRO VIII Gawad Parangal 2024

Leyte Normal University (LNU) was recognized for its commitment to providing quality education and excellent service at the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office VIII’s GAWAD PARANGAL 2024 anchored on the theme, “Transformative and Resilient Philippine Higher Education” held on May 24, 2024 at the SVOREF-RTEMF Gymnasium, Tacloban City.

Notably, LNU received the following prestigious accolades:

1. Sixteen (16) Board Topnotchers in 2022-2023 from various disciplines

2. International Recognition for the World University Rankings for Innovation (96th)

3. Top One Performing Schools in the September 2022 Social Worker Licensure Examination with 100% passing rate

4. Top One Performing Schools in the September 2023 Social Worker Licensure Examination with 100% passing rate

5. Recognition for setting the bar of excellence by producing board placers in the June 2022 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (Secondary Level), September 2022 Licensure Examination for Social Workers, October 2022 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (Secondary Level), March 2023 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (Elementary Level), September 2023 Licensure Examination for Social Workers, September 2023 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (Secondary Level)

The awards were presented by Dr. Maximo C. Aljibe, Regional Director of CHED Office VIII, and accepted by Dr. Evelyn B. Aguirre, LNU President, accompanied by Dr. Ma. Rocini Tenasas, Vice President for Academic Services. Additionally, several topnotchers were present to receive their certificates personally.

This year’s GAWAD PARANGAL coincided with the CHED’s 30th Founding Anniversary and the 4th National Higher Education Celebration. The event drew attendance from numerous Higher Education Institutions across the Region.
