Leyte Normal University Leads Global IT Discourse on Emerging Tech Trends


Leyte Normal University hosted the international webinar “Navigating the Information Technology Landscape: Emerging Trends and Practices” on October 30, 2024. The event brought together technology experts, professionals, and students to share insights on pressing developments in the IT sector.

The webinar featured four key topics presented by industry experts: Ms. Hazel D. Martinez discussed the Information Communication Technology (ICT) Proficiency Exam while Mr. Jemar Jude Maranga, CEO of CodeChum, explored Programming with CodeChum. Ms. Claire Fernandez from DICT VIII presented the Cybersecurity Landscape and Dr. Suriawati Suparjoh of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia talked about the potential and challenges of Augmented Reality Development.

Organized by the Information and Technology Department, this initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 by promoting inclusive and quality education and equipping participants with essential knowledge and skills. It also aligns with SDG 9 by fostering innovation and bridging technology and education to strengthen sustainable industry and infrastructure development.
